Glass bottle manufacturers are still favored in the EU market! In Germany, the largest producer of glass bottles in the European Union, glass bottle production decreased from 4.43 million tons in 1994 to 4.11 million tons in 2004, a decrease of 7.3% in 10 years. However, this decline was reversed in 2006. In 2006, Germany shipped 17.2 billion glass bottles, an increase of 5.5% over the previous year's 16.3 billion, and shipped 1.56 billion euros, an increase of 4.7% over the previous year's 1.49 billion euros. German consumers still have a soft spot for glass bottles. According to the USSMA company survey, consumers' evaluation of packaging glass bottles, 40% think that "good", 38% think that "good".

The glass bottle market in Western Europe, including Germany (including Turkey), is the main body of the EU glass bottle market. In 2003, the consumption of glass bottles in Western Europe reached 15 million tons, increased to 15.3 million tons in 2004, and continued to increase slightly to 15.37 million tons in 2005. Wine, mineral water and beer packaging glass bottles accounted for the total proportion, such as Italy's wine bottles accounted for 41% of the total glass bottles, mineral water bottles accounted for 18%, beer bottles accounted for 14%, distilled bottles accounted for 6%, tomato sauce bottles accounted for 6%, olive oil bottles accounted for 5.8%, juice bottles accounted for 5.2%.
